My friend has recently started to ideate on the idea of intelligence. Or, more importantly, on the concept of defining intelligence.
My opinion is this: if there is wisdom in hindsight, then there is intelligence in foresight.
It is intelligence that separates us from animals. As a species, we know if we keep progressing mentally then we will continue to expand our civilization. A cow assumes that if it continues to eat and mate, then its species will survive.
The cow cannot accurately predict the future. But we, the intelligent species, can.
